Strange Wednesdays: Final Push

Last month I entered in a haiku contest run by Little Infinite, and all of the votes from readers, friends, and family have pushed me into first place. I am so excited and appreciative! Voting ends tomorrow night, and I would appreciate one more vote to help me stay in the lead. It just takes a few moments to cast a vote here, and if you voted once already, the website will let you vote every 24 hours.

I can’t thank everyone who already voted enough!

Strange Happenings This Week:

Not a literary selection by any means, but this past Friday Wendy’s celebrated National Roast Day by hurling insults at any person, brand, or company willing to step up to the plate. The fast food chain’s Twitter feed has become notorious for its snarky posts, and used the holiday to raise the bar considerably.

Wednesday, January 9- The Moon sets several hours after darkness falls, so if the area your in is dark enough, you may be able to spot the faint band of the Milky Way.

Sunday, January 13th- The third season of HBO’s True Detective begins. No worries if you missed the first two, this is an anthology show with a new story each season. And this season may be the best yet, with recent Golden Globe winner Mahershala Ali taking the lead role as Detective Wayne Hays.
