Muse of the Day

If you’re writing about a character, if he’s a powerful character, unless you give him vulnerability I don’t think he’ll be as interesting to the reader.

  1. Perfection in the POV character is what some might call a Mary/Gary Sue, which is far from interesting when read about. I’ve ran into a couple of them over the years, and I always wanted to reach inside the book and strangle them. Those books in question…I never finished reading them.

Stories are so much better if the protagonist has flaws. Makes them easier to identify with, to like and love and worry over. Hard to do that with one who never has a misstep.

Love your ‘Muse of the Day’ quotes. Always interesting to see what will come about. Wonder what tomorrow will bring?
